Pitbull Puppies

Pitbull puppies are some of the most beautiful looking creatures on this planet.  Most people make mistakes when they are selecting a puppy. When you are selecting a pitbull puppy you have to be extra careful. Pitbull's are a very powerful breed and sometimes they have been bred for all the wrong reasons, so the temperaments of some of these dogs will not suit the family atmosphere. Most Pitbull owners will breed only those dogs that do not show constant signs of aggression. And they will definitely not breed any dog that shows signs of aggression towards human beings. So before you go on your hunt for Pitbull puppies you must follow a few simple rules. This will save you from much trouble later on. It's a wonderful thing to bring a new puppy into your home, especially if you have children. But to bring the wrong Pitbull puppy home can leads to disastrous results later.

The Pitbull Terrier is a breed that has inherited aggression as one of its more up front characteristics. But as any responsible Pitbull owner will tell you, the Pitbull terrier can be the most loving, and giving of any dog breed.

Some breed information about Pitbull puppies

As I said before this breed has an inherited aggression. The Pitbull was bred for fighting. When you breed a dog, you try and breed for one or two specific characteristics. For instance the German Shepherd is bred for the working characteristic and the intelligence characteristic. Down throughout its history, the Pitbull Terrier has been bred purely for aggression, as a killing machine, but this does not have to be so. I love the Blue Pitbull puppies and Blue Nose Pitbull puppies.  Although the American Pitbull puppy always takes my heart.

The shape and size of your Pitbull puppy

The Pitbull is a very muscular dog. It is a perfectly proportioned dog with a huge brick like head, wide mouth, and short ears. The Pitbull can grow old to 2 feet in height and can weigh over 50 kg, this depends on the specific type of Pitbull.

Choosing your Pitbull puppies

If you see Pitbull puppies for sale it is always great to be able to see the parents, and sometimes the grandparents, of the Pitbulls puppies that you're going to view. Spend a bit of time watching the puppies as they play and interact with each other. Watch how the puppies interact with you and your family. And of course you must take into account that instant magnetic attraction you will feel towards a particular puppy that nearly always happens.

Taking your Pitbull puppies home

The first thing that you most do when you bring your puppy home is to slowly introduce him to your house. You do this by keeping the puppy outside the door until he is invited in. This establishes that you are the master; this should be a routine exercise throughout the dog's life.

Training your Pitbull puppy

Pitbulls need lots of exercise and they need lots of training, a firm hand is essential. But you must start as you mean to go on. You must think about the actions of the puppy and ask yourself if they are acceptable forms of behavior when your Pitbull is an adult dog. For instance, a puppy that jumps up on people might seem to be cute but as an adult your dog could knock over a small child or an old person, so you need to dissuade the dog from jumping up from an early age. Also keep your puppy off couches and beds, don't let them beg from the table, have a set routine for his meal times where he must be invited to eat his food... not jumping all over the place with excitement.

Finding a good trainer

If you feel you can't handle the training of your Pitbull puppy you should seek out a good trainer who will not only train your puppy, but will train you. You should follow the same guidelines as you would for finding the breeder. Go on reputation and references, although you can always get rid of your trainer.

The most important thing about your Pitbull puppy

When you bring your new puppy home it is one of the most enjoyable experiences of your life. And it is an experience to be enjoyed to the full. If you have followed these guidelines, or indeed those of some of the great websites out there on selecting Pitbull terriers, then you will have a lifetime of beautiful memories with your new dog. I hope you've enjoyed this home about Pitbull puppies and that will help you in selecting yours.

hahaha, they're funny looking things. I personally am not all that enamoured with pitbull pups, they look like little baby pigs or something. Each to his own...
